Job Description and Duties
Candidates are required to review the Minimum Qualifications (MQs) for this classification. If you meet MQs under Pattern II and require the TE Electrical in-person written hurdle exam, DO NOT TAKE the TE Electrical online exam prior to passing the written hurdle. Candidates who take the TE Electrical online exam prior to passing the written hurdle may negatively impact their hiring eligibility. Please contact the exam unit at askexams@dot.ca.gov for additional information prior to taking the online examination.

Working Conditions
- Position located at 100 S Main St, Los Angeles, CA 90012, Los Angeles County.
- Multiple positions may be filled from this recruitment.
- While at the base of operation, the incumbent will work in a climate-controlled office under artificial lighting.
- Incumbent may also be required to travel and work outdoors and may be exposed to dirt, noise, uneven surfaces, and/or extreme heat or cold.
- The incumbent may be required to work outside normal office working hours and may occasionally remain in field locations in rural areas without facilities.
- This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans’s evolving telework policy.

Special Requirements
- Appointment to Range D requires a valid Professional Engineering License (Electrical) issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a State owned or leased vehicle.
