TRANSPORTATION ENGINEER (CIVIL)

Job Description and Duties

As a Transportation Engineer (Civil), you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and efficiency of transportation systems. Your duties may include:

• Conducting traffic studies and analyzing data to identify potential hazards and improve traffic flow.
• Designing and implementing traffic control measures, including signage and signals.
• Assisting in the development and maintenance of traffic management plans.
• Participating in inspections and audits of transportation projects to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Providing technical support to other departments and stakeholders as needed.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this position, you must meet the following requirements:

• Hold a valid driver’s license.
• Have a valid Professional Engineering License (Civil) issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.
• Have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited institution.
• Pass the Transportation Engineer (Civil) exam.

Qualifications

The following qualifications are preferred:

• Experience in traffic engineering and safety.
• Knowledge of traffic engineering software and tools.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
