Job Description and Duties
As a Transportation Engineer (Civil), you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and efficiency of transportation systems. Your duties may include:
- Conducting traffic studies and analyzing data to identify potential hazards and improve traffic flow.
- Designing and implementing traffic control measures, including signage and signals.
- Assisting in the development and maintenance of traffic management plans.
- Participating in inspections and audits of transportation projects to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Providing technical support to other departments and stakeholders as needed.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this position, you must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a valid driver’s license.
- Have a valid Professional Engineering License (Civil) issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Pass the Transportation Engineer (Civil) exam.
Qualifications
The following qualifications are preferred:
- Experience in traffic engineering and safety.
- Knowledge of traffic engineering software and tools.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
