Responsibilities
- Analysis, planning, design, and permitting of transportation and highway projects
- Management of small to large scale transportation engineering projects
- Oversight on projects and serving as a technical resource
- Preparation of design calculations and contract documents
- Quality review of highway, civil, and traffic design calculations and contract documents
- Participation in meetings with clients and project team members
- Aid in business development with MaineDOT and other public and private sector clients
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer (Maine preferred or ability to get reciprocity)
- 6+ years’ experience in Transportation Engineering required
- Demonstrated experience in federal, state (ME preferred), and local permitting processes
- Demonstrated experience in managing small to large projects
- Demonstrated working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, and knowledge of MicroStation or interest in learning a plus
- Detail oriented, thorough, well organized, and able to effectively manage time
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Independent, critical thinker with strong analytical ability, commitment to high-quality, and follow-through
Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in Transportation Engineering
- Experience in managing small to large projects
- Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation or willingness to learn
- Ability to perform quality reviews of design calculations and contract documents
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
