About the role
The Southeast division of Ayres is seeking a transportation engineer with a strong background in FDOT and local government projects. The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial, looking to grow the transportation engineering practice in Florida and contribute to the national practice.
Responsibilities
- Aid in marketing and winning transportation projects from clients including FDOT, cities, counties, and municipalities.
- Participate in design, oversee plans production, and ensure work is completed on time, profitably, and in compliance with Ayres and contract requirements.
- Maintain respectful working relationships with project managers and other company leaders.
- Support and participate in the development and mentorship of staff.
- Engage actively in professional organizations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in transportation.
- Registered professional engineer (PE) in Florida.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in transportation design.
- Sound knowledge of FDOT Roadway design standards and specifications.
- Proven experience in project delivery focused on transportation design, plans production, and digital delivery.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

- Urban and rural roadway design.
- PD&E and corridor studies.
- Passion for representing Ayres in a professional manner.
