Transportation Engineer

About the role

As a Transportation Engineer for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in our Cleveland, OH office, you’ll work with project teams to perform transportation impact studies and highway design plans for commercial, institutional, and residential clients. From small, single-tenant shopping centers to regional shopping centers, you’ll take part in collecting data and performing analyses required to prepare impact studies, as well as designing driveways, roadways, and traffic signals. You’ll interact with clients, contractors, and local government officials, impacting the whole project from conceptual and design phases through regulatory review, bidding, construction, and grand opening.

Responsibilities

• Perform transportation impact studies and highway design plans.
• Collect data and conduct analyses for impact studies.
• Design driveways, roadways, and traffic signals.
• Interact with clients, contractors, and local government officials.
• Support projects through conceptual design, regulatory review, bidding, construction, and grand opening.

Requirements

• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related technical field.

Qualifications

• Previous internship preferred.
• Engineering in Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification preferred.
• Familiarity with MicroStation/InRoads or similar transportation engineering design software.
• Willingness to learn new skills and work in a team setting.

Skills

• Transportation impact study analysis.

• Proficiency with MicroStation/InRoads or comparable software.
• Client and stakeholder communication.
