Transportation Engineer

About the role

SOL Engineering Services, LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer (Transportation) to lead transportation engineering services in the Memphis TN region. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of transportation engineering experience, a master’s degree in civil engineering, and current Professional Engineering registration in Mississippi or another U.S. state.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage roadway design projects and project delivery teams from concept through completion.
• Design, analyze, and produce complex roadways for interstate, bridge, and surface transportation design projects.
• Serve as the Engineer of Record for assigned projects.
• Develop and manage office and project-level budgets.
• Execute Business Development initiatives to identify and capture new business opportunities and retain existing clients.
• Manage and execute comprehensive project management plans, including risk assessments, quality management, change management, schedules, budgets, communication plans, and reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited school.
• A master’s degree in civil engineering is a plus.
• 10+ Years of transportation engineering experience.
• Current Professional Engineering registration in the State of Mississippi OR current Professional Engineer in another U.S. State with the ability to obtain registration in Mississippi within one year.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with internal and external partners including clients, subconsultants, and utility companies.
• Excellent time and project management skills.
• Very organized, dependable, and professional.
• Experience with mandatory/permitting at federal, state, regional, county, and local levels.
• Proficiency in producing construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D or Bentley MicroStation.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in civil engineering is a plus.
