About the role
Will manage construction projects in the southern portion of District 7: Miami, Clark, Greene, & Montgomery Counties.
Responsibilities
- Administer transportation projects from the preconstruction meeting through the finalization process including running meetings, writing change orders, approving materials and processing estimates for payment.
- Work with contractors to resolve issues in the field.
- Interpret plans for construction and ensure that the contractor is in compliance with plans and specifications.
- Maintain traffic operations on projects to ensure safety for the motoring public.
- Supervise lower-level engineers, managers and highway technicians (inspectors) that are working on your assigned projects.
Qualifications
- Licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors
- Valid Driver's License Required to operate a state vehicle
- Experience as group or project leader providing work direction & training to engineering technicians &/or lower-level engineers or 12 mos. exp. in conducting engineering related research (only applies to staff specialist positions)
- If assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver’s license
- Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience required, but not for the mandated registration.
