Key Responsibilities
- Work from limited information, instructions, schematics, sketches, diagrams, or layouts, requiring interpretation and problem-solving.
- Create and interpret detailed electrical specifications and schematics.
- Apply knowledge of core electrical concepts including resistance, voltage, and current.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues while promoting quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team environment, with limited supervision.
- Use oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal generators, and multimeters to test and validate systems.
- Perform basic soldering (e.g., 0603, 0402, TSSOP, SOIC packages).
- Work with external PCB fabricators and contract manufacturers.
- Design custom cables for production and occasionally assemble one-offs for development and testing.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (required).
- 4-6 years of electrical engineering experience within transportation, rail, or industrial sectors.
- Strong background designing, implementing, and maintaining electrical systems for large-scale infrastructure projects (e.g., power distribution, signaling, train control, public transit systems).
- Familiarity with systems integration involving mechanical, software, and electrical disciplines.
- Hands-on experience with test equipment and PCB/contract manufacturing workflows.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
