Position Summary

  • Responsible for coordinating and scheduling authorized use of hospital vehicle to transport patients to/from Havenwyck Hospital.
  • Responsible for driving hospital vehicles to transport adult, adolescent, and child patients to and from services as needed using maps and/or using GPS.
  • Escort and assist patients as needed on and off the van and into designated areas.
  • Ensures the maintenance of a safe and sanitary environment within hospital vehicles & facilitates routine preventative maintenance and necessary repairs.
  • Record data on maintenance and mileage logs.
  • Communicate with guardians, family members, community providers and other contacts outside the hospital in a professional and caring manner.
  • Responsible for assigned tasks related to keeping facility and grounds free of trash and debris.
  • Light housekeeping in administrative areas.
  • Attends hospital mandatory training/in-services as required. Follows all policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position.

Qualifications

  • Must have a GED or High School Diploma - Required.
  • No violations for driving without insurance, reckless driving, vehicular homicide manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident or fleeing a police officer - Required.
  • No convictions for DUI or DWI within the past 7 years - Required.
  • No more than 3 moving violations or 2 at fault accidents on record in the past 3 years - Required.
  • Physical agility to assist patients on/off vehicle. Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 40 pounds - Required.
  • Previous experience transporting individuals in a mental health setting preferred.
