Responsibilities
- Transports residents, staff, volunteers, and others to scheduled events
- Coordinates transportation services with appropriate staff members
- Assists residents in and out of the vehicle, using proper safety procedures
- Operates mechanical lift as required for wheelchair-bound patients
- Follows written and verbal instructions before leaving center with residents
- Obtains appropriate paperwork before leaving center with resident
- Assesses and corrects inappropriate resident appearance before leaving center
- Follows resident’s rights and center safety protocol
- Dresses professionally and represents the center in a professional manner
- Monitors and reports necessary mechanical maintenance needed to ensure safe operations of vehicle, including reporting any mechanical problems encountered
- Inspects and maintains vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes, to ensure vehicles are in proper working condition
- Maintains records such as vehicle logs and destinations as required
- Reports any issues or problems that may arise to the transportation coordinator and administrator
- Complies with state, federal, and all other applicable health care and safety standards
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of commercial driving experience is preferred
- Must be CPR certified
- Valid CNA certification in the state of Oklahoma is required
- Valid state insurance and license is required
- Must be able to operate a vehicle
