Responsibilities

  • Transports residents, staff, volunteers, and others to scheduled events
  • Coordinates transportation services with appropriate staff members
  • Assists residents in and out of the vehicle, using proper safety procedures
  • Operates mechanical lift as required for wheelchair-bound patients
  • Follows written and verbal instructions before leaving center with residents
  • Obtains appropriate paperwork before leaving center with resident
  • Assesses and corrects inappropriate resident appearance before leaving center
  • Follows resident’s rights and center safety protocol
  • Dresses professionally and represents the center in a professional manner
  • Monitors and reports necessary mechanical maintenance needed to ensure safe operations of vehicle, including reporting any mechanical problems encountered
  • Inspects and maintains vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes, to ensure vehicles are in proper working condition
  • Maintains records such as vehicle logs and destinations as required
  • Reports any issues or problems that may arise to the transportation coordinator and administrator
  • Complies with state, federal, and all other applicable health care and safety standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of commercial driving experience is preferred
  • Must be CPR certified
  • Valid CNA certification in the state of Oklahoma is required
  • Valid state insurance and license is required
  • Must be able to operate a vehicle
  • Candidates must maintain a working email address and phone number for employer communication
