AFO is looking for a Transportation Dispatcher to work in Fort Sill, OK. This role coordinates fleet operations, manages driver schedules, plans routes, and ensures timely and efficient delivery of goods or passengers while maintaining communication with drivers assigned to the Transportation Motor Pool (TMP). The position supports a US Army EAGLE contract, requiring strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Commitment to achieving 100% mission readiness standards in support of the Army and the Logistics Readiness Center (LRC) at Fort Sill, ensuring all transportation operations align with contract performance metrics.
  • Consistently deliver safe, compliant, and high-quality transportation services contributing to zero reportable safety incidents and directly enhancing effectiveness of US Soldiers.
  • Support the Transportation Manager to compliantly accomplish the Army’s transportation mission.
  • Planning, coordinating, and execution of daily TMP Operations.
  • Ensure completeness, accuracy, and retention per policy, applicable regulatory guidelines, and contractual requirements.
  • Track on-time performance, no-shows, delays, and service recovery; recommend and implement corrective actions.
  • Support vehicle safety inspections, bus cleanliness standards, and preventive maintenance coordination with the motor pool.
  • Maintain delivery and movement schedules and track execution to confirm all requirements are met; adjust plans for changes and emergent tasks.
  • Ensure safety rules are observed as outlined in the General Code of Operating Rules (GCOR) and ABTH.
  • Maintain movement records, incident reports, driver qualification files, and required forms per policy.
  • Basic knowledge of transportation operations, scheduling, and dispatch best practices.
  • Monitor fuel usage, log tank levels, and arrange fuel operations; ensure safety and compliance with DoD and environmental regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in fleet coordination, vehicle dispatching, or transportation operations.
  • Working knowledge of fleet operations, preventive maintenance, fuel handling, safety regulations, and record-keeping systems.
  • Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.
  • Ability to receive a favorable TIER-1 investigation result, obtain and maintain a CAC.
  • Possess a REAL ID-compliant, state-issued driver’s license.

Desired Qualifications

  • One to two (1-2) years’ experience in vehicle or transportation operations preferred.
  • Previous US Army Transportation Experience preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Lifting and Carrying: Frequently lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying heavy objects, sometimes up to 45 pounds.
  • Mobility and Balance: Extensive walking (up to 10 kilometers a day), climbing up/down, bending, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
  • Strength and Endurance: Using muscles for long periods, including working in cramped or awkward spaces.
  • Environmental Factors: Working in extreme hot or cold temperatures, in all weather conditions, and with exposure to loud noise or vibration.
  • Safety and Sensory Needs: Must possess good, sometimes aided, vision (including color distinction) and hearing, as well as the ability to climb on and off moving or stationary equipment.

This position is contingent upon contract award and funding. Applicants selected may be offered but cannot begin work until funding has been confirmed.
