Transportation Director

Responsibilities

• Support transport of residents/participants, meals, durable medical equipment, pharmacy, and other transportation as deemed necessary.
• Hire, train, and supervise all drivers and dispatchers.
• Oversee vehicle repairs and maintenance.
• Meet departmental budget goals.
• Supervise transportation departmental staff.
• Ensure responsibility for running and maintaining transportation scheduling software program.
• Maintain regular attendance at, and participants in Interdisciplinary Team meetings; communicate participant changes, collaborate on plan of care decisions and coordination for twenty-four (24) hour care delivery.
• Communicate Interdisciplinary Team decisions, participant changes, plan of care changes, and updated information to transportation staff on a daily basis.
• Monitor use of Driver/Dispatch overtime, ensure adequate staffing and improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director in the annual and capital budget development.
• Maintain the departmental budget within its allowed and reasonable objectives as well as meet established budgetary guidelines.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance program and obtain estimates and authorize vehicle repairs per departmental policies.
• Participate in and support Quality Improvement Initiatives.
• Perform other duties as required or requested.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Two (2) years of administrative/supervisory experience, in a transportation setting.
• Five (5) years of experience in the transportation industry.
• One (1) year experience in working with the frail or elderly population.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and have means of transportation.
• Familiar with operation of accessible vehicles.
• Experience with maintaining and overseeing a fleet of vehicles.

Qualifications

Pay

$61,700 - $69,600 annually (based on experience)

Monday - Friday 7am-5pm, on call as needed
