Transportation Coordinator (2nd shift)

About the role
Our employees deliver excellent business results through their teams. This role involves overseeing the close-out and dispatch of shipments, managing international and hazardous material documentation, coordinating carrier logistics, and ensuring the safe and efficient loading of outbound trailers. The position also includes supervisory backup, problem-solving, and continuous process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the close-out and dispatch of all shipments through the Operations Team and directly.
- Ensure all international shipments have required documents, including Shipper’s Export Declarations, and file EEI when applicable.
- Prioritize international shipments for all outbound shipping.
- Create Hazmat documents and ensure proper labeling by all parties.
- Review carrier equipment needs and door assignments daily, engaging with carriers for swaps or live loads.
- Review internal and external documentation requests for LTL/TL shipments, including carrier tracking or pro number updates.
- Ensure all outbound cold chain orders have a printed packing list for carrier scheduling.
- Ensure proper trailer temperature set points for cold chain shipments, noted on the bill of lading or manifest.
- Reconcile open orders report with outbound/staged freight throughout the day with the Operations Team.
- Manage mode conversions and communicate with Transportation & Operations teams regarding staged freight, express runs, and city runs.
- Validate trailer loading to ensure accuracy and proper chain-of-custody transfer.
- Manage communications requiring advanced shipment notice details.
- Provide leadership, instruction, and training to staff as a supervisory backup.
- Oversee loading of outbound trailers, including pallet count validation and load securement.
- Ensure the loading area is safe and carriers adhere to all safety requirements.
- Acknowledge and address all internal and external shipping requests.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments, clients, and carriers to ensure proper handling of shipments.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Background in operations and knowledge of the transportation industry.
- Experience with Mercury Gate or another Transportation Management System (TMS) as a user.
- HAZMAT certification.
- Proficiency in TMS, auditing tools, reporting, analytics, and Microsoft Office Suite (medium level).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Background in Transportation and Distribution.
- Degree in Supply Chain or Finance, or APICS CSCP certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Power BI (User Level).

Pay
This role is eligible for hire in select U.S. locations based on business and operational considerations. If this job posting includes a base salary range, it represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position in the U.S. Compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, and geographic location to account for comparative cost of living.
