Transportation Construction Inspector (TCI) - Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Supervising field inspections on roads, bridges, or other transportation improvement projects
• Performing field inspections on roads, bridges, or other transportation improvement projects
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, contract documents
• Communicating and coordinating with contractors, designers, owners, project teams, and the public
• Performing mathematical calculations based on appropriate field measurements
• Witnessing material tests such as soil compaction, concrete, and asphalt as determined by project need and entering information and test results into the appropriate PennDOT application
• Preparing clear and concise daily field reports in a timely manner, which includes photographs, documents, and sketches using PennDOT’s PSA mobile app or ECMS

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Valid Driver's License
• Six years minimum of transportation, highway or bridge construction inspection experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Ability to prepare Contractor Work Authorizations, Estimates, and Work Orders in PennDOT’s ECMS system (a plus)

Preferred Attributes

• Prior experience in PennDOT and/or PA Turnpike Highway and Bridge Construction Inspection
• Knowledge of PennDOT mobile applications, ECMS Wave 5 Construction
• Additional certifications including NICET (Highway Construction) Level II or higher, ACI, PennDOT Concrete Technician Certification, NECEPT Bituminous Field Technician, OSHA 10 hour, ECMS Wave 5
