Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor - Snyder County District 3

About the role

CDR Maguire Inc., a national multi-disciplinary engineering firm, is seeking a Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor for the CSVT project in Snyder County for an immediate opening. A structures and paving background is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Consult with contractors, consultants, engineers, job superintendents, and others in matters related to plans, specifications, materials, equipment, and the methods, practices and safety precautions involved in construction and installation of the work
• Prepare daily progress reports and maintain progress schedules
• Check shop drawings and contractors' quotations for variations
• Keep records of quantities and cost of materials used
• Prepare contractors' periodic progress payment claims and recommend payment
• Supervise a staff of inspectors
• Ensure compliance with the contract documents by the contractor
• Ensure compliance with the contractor's health and safety plan
• Check that delivered materials conform to the contract documents
• Check contractor's layout and verify accuracy
• Prepare and submit daily reports of work performed in accordance with CDR Maguire's and Owner's requirements
• Communicate effectively orally and in writing
• Follow and convey instructions
• Utilize computers and common office equipment
• Travel as required and as it relates to above duties or as directed by supervisor
• Perform other duties which may be required which are commensurate with the position

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or post secondary education
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• Ability to do basic math computations for length, area, and volume
• BS Civil Engineering or NICET Level 2 or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction or combination thereof
• NECEPT Bituminous field certification
• ACI/PennDOT Concrete field technician certification
• PennDOT/PTC CDS certification
• ECMS experience
• OSHA 10-Hour certification

Physical demands & work environment

• Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, sit, and stand
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Wear required personal protective gear/equipment
• React to hazardous warnings and signals
• Infrequently perform manual labor
• Infrequently work in adverse weather conditions
• Limited exposure to chemicals
