About the role

Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisors are sought for projects in the Greater Philadelphia area, starting August 2026. The role involves consulting with contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders on plans, specifications, materials, equipment, and construction methods and safety. Responsibilities include preparing daily progress reports, maintaining schedules, verifying shop drawings and contractors' quotations, tracking material quantities and costs, and preparing progress payment claims.

The Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor may also oversee a team of inspectors.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure contractor compliance with contract documents and health and safety plans.
  • Verify delivered materials conform to contract documents.
  • Check and confirm accuracy of contractor’s layout.
  • Prepare and submit daily reports of work performed per CDR Maguire’s and Owner’s requirements.
  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication.
  • Follow and convey instructions accurately.
  • Utilize computers and common office equipment.
  • Perform physical tasks including bending, stretching, kneeling, sitting, and standing.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Wear required personal protective gear/equipment.
  • Respond to hazardous warnings and signals.
  • Perform manual labor and work in adverse weather conditions as needed (infrequently).
  • Handle limited exposure to chemicals.

Other Duties

  • Travel as required for job-related duties or as directed by supervisor.
  • Maintain a positive attitude to establish competence and pride in the company.
  • Perform other duties commensurate with the position as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or post-secondary education.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English and perform basic math computations for length, area, and volume.
  • One or more of the following certifications:
    • BS in Civil Engineering
    • NICET Level 2 or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction
    • NECEPT Bituminous field certification
    • ACI/PennDOT Concrete field technician certification
    • PennDOT/PTC CDS certification
  • ECMS experience.
  • OSHA 10-Hour certification.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
