Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisors needed for projects in the Greater Philadelphia area starting August 2026.

About the role

The Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor (TCIS) consults with contractors, consultants, engineers, job superintendents, and others on plans, specifications, materials, equipment, and construction methods, practices, and safety precautions. The TCIS prepares daily progress reports, maintains progress schedules, checks shop drawings and contractors' quotations, records material quantities and costs, and prepares contractors' periodic progress payment claims.

The TCIS may supervise a staff of inspectors.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with contract documents by the contractor
  • Ensure compliance with the contractor's health and safety plan
  • Verify delivered materials conform to contract documents
  • Check contractor's layout and verify accuracy
  • Prepare and submit daily reports of work performed
  • Effective oral and written communication
  • Follow and convey instructions
  • Utilize computers and common office equipment
  • Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, sit, and stand
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Wear required personal protective gear/equipment
  • React to hazardous warnings and signals
  • Infrequently perform manual labor
  • Infrequently work in adverse weather conditions
  • Limited exposure to chemicals
  • Travel as required for duties or as directed by supervisor
  • Provide a positive attitude to establish competence and pride in the company

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or post-secondary education
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English and perform basic math computations for length, area, and volume
  • One or more of the following certifications:
    • BS in Civil Engineering
    • NICET Level 2 or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction
    • NECEPT Bituminous field certification
    • ACI/PennDOT Concrete field technician certification
    • PennDOT/PTC CDS certification
  • ECMS experience
  • OSHA 10-Hour certification
  • Must be able to work in the United States
