What You Will Do

GFT is seeking a Transportation Construction Assistant (TA-1) to join our Construction Services Team in Ebensburg, PA Central and Western PA area. This role follows a remote work schedule, where work is mostly done on-site.

What You’ll Be Challenged To Do

  • Support construction and inspection teams to assure that contractors build a quality construction project.
  • Support team with assigned duties to specific activities to assure plans, specifications, standards and Q.C. Plans are adhered to.
  • Comply with the District and project specific overtime requirements.
  • Support the Department Project Engineer/ Manager/ Supervisor or Consultant Manager/ Supervisor daily, or as required, to receive instructions and assignments.
  • Support the completion PSA’s and work sheets daily.
  • Support Manager/ Supervisor for any instruction or assignment in the inspection of materials and workmanship to ensure compliance with contract requirements and established standards.
  • Attend and participate in daily huddles with field staff.

Education | Experience

The ideal candidate should have a High School Diploma, GED, or post-secondary education and possess the ability to read, write, and communicate in English and perform basic math computations for length, area, and volume. ACI, NICET, and/or NECEPT certifications are preferred.

Pay & Schedule

The salary range for this role is $21.22/hr. or $45,000 annually. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
