Transportation Construct Technician 3

Job Summary

Responsible for performing construction office administrative duties such as inputting data, procurement of material and services, budgeting, construction project cost accounting and related clerical services. Responsible for monitoring project timelines, compliance with established standards. Maintain required documents and ensures accuracy on contract items including certified payrolls, supplemental agreements and contract pay estimates. Maintains construction records.

Job Duties

  • Review for accuracy and/or prepare contract documents related to financial documents for construction projects.
  • Prepare and generate construction project documentation for project administration to ensure conformance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations and standards.
  • Create appropriate documents for procurement actions to include goods and services.
  • Procure and Accounts Payable research of automated procurement system, initiation of purchases, receiving and verifying purchase and completion of all documents in compliance with State and agency codes and policies.
  • Interact with contractors, consultants, local agencies and citizens to enhance and maintain communication.
  • Attend various meetings and drive State issued vehicles in the course and scope of State business.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs)

  • Principles and practices of business administration to include but not limited to business math, accounting principles and English/grammar.
  • Agency rules, regulations and operating procedures.
  • Construction inspection methods, procedures and techniques.
  • Various computer programs and systems including but not limited to Google Workspace, Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Written and verbal communication.
  • Analysis and preparation of data.
  • Organizing and prioritizing work assignments.
  • Safely operate a State owned vehicle.
  • Problem solve.
  • Adjust to a changing environment.
  • Provide quality customer service.
  • Work in a mostly independent setting.

Selective Preference(s)

  • Experience with procurement systems.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in administrative or advanced engineering construction record maintenance; construction plans and specification review.

Pre-Employment Requirements

  • Valid Drivers License - This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, and the following requirements apply.
