Transportation Concierge/Van Driver

About the Role

Provide safe transportation services to residents of the community. Drive the community van on scheduled routes and for special trips sponsored by the activity department.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing routes and schedules based on resident needs and requests
• Maintain mileage log, repair log, trip records, and expense records as required
• Keep receipts for expenses and submit them to the Life Enrichment Director
• Keep the van clean inside and out
• Ensure routine maintenance and needed repairs are performed in a timely manner
• Report any accidents or incidents to supervisor and Harmony Senior Services immediately
• Assist the Activities/Programming Department with activities as assigned
• Maintain a working knowledge of all policies and procedures pertaining to the department
• Attend all required in-services and staff meetings

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Safe driving record and a copy of DMV record provided to Executive Director
• Current driver’s license designated to permit operating the type of vehicle used by the community
• Polite, considerate, and professional demeanor with residents, visitors, co-workers, and supervisor
• Organized and able to work as part of a team
• Physically and mentally capable of performing job duties
• Able to ascend and descend stairs frequently, operate a wheelchair lift, and push a resident in a wheelchair
• Neat dress and courteous manner; may be required to wear a designated uniform
• Able to work a flexible schedule including some weekend and evening hours
• Able to lift 50 lbs
