Job Summary
The Class A delivery driver will ensure Northgate Markets are provided timely, accurately selected food products. The delivery driver will carry a valid Class ‘A’ license. This position requires the safe operation of Northgate fleet equipment. This position requires DOT compliance.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Class A License
- Tractor Trailer experience
- Warehouse Knowledge
- Loading and unloading pallets
- Delivery accuracy & auditing loads
- A safe driving record with a continuous effort to uphold the highest safety standards
- Safety inspection of vehicle, equipment, and cargo to ensure all safety and legal requirements are secured
- Reporting any issues with vehicle or equipment immediately to Supervisors
- Obeying and following applicable traffics laws
- Communicating and coordinating with transportation dispatchers
- Positive daily associate and customer interaction and maintaining good relations within the stores
- No preventable accidents resulting in a fatality or catastrophic injury in driving history
- No more than one (1) moving violations while operating a personal or commercial motor vehicle
- Must pass a road test and be able to back into different spaced docks with accuracy, including but not limited to, wide, narrow, and high volume
- Must be able to drive in a wide range of environmental conditions, including but not limited to, rain, wind, cold weather, hot weather, etc.
- Ability to operate a forklift and pallet jacks
- Must be able to use handheld technology and smart phone applications
- Must be able to operate all safety and operational functions of equipment
- Must pass a DOT physical and pre-employment drug screen
- Maintaining a clean, sanitary and safe work area
- Must be able to work independently, and in a team setting
- Must be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures, and Code of conduct
- Must be flexible with work schedule (Day/Evening/Weekends/Holidays)
- Ensuring the use of wheel chocks when loading/unloading trailers
- Performing other related duties as assigned
Position Requirements And Conditions
- Must have an acceptable MVR (Motor Vehicle Record)
- DOT (Department of Transportation) Compliance
- Forklift/Pallet-jack certification
Physical Demands and Conditions
- Must be capable to safely bend, stand, and climb into and out of the truck
- Able to lift approximately 90 lbs, or more if required by the essential function of the job
- Specific vision abilities required; close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
- Sitting for a long period of time
- Required to stand, sit, walk, bend, kneel, squat, lift, push, pull, etc.
- Required to use hands to touch, handle, feel, and to reach with hands and arms
- Required to load and unload trailers
- Required to have excellent hearing
- Ability to operate a forklift and electric pallet jacks
Hourly Pay
$26.98 USD - $33.06 USD
