Transportation Assistant Manager - IDEA Henry (26-27)

About the role

The Transportation Assistant Manager will assist the Campus Transportation Manager to coordinate and oversee all transportation needs at his/her campus. The Assistant Manager will work towards learning, adapting and surpassing the goals set forth by the department.

Responsibilities

• Cooking and learning daily operations of buses and bus drivers.
• Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and applicable laws.
• Training and developing the usage of software for mapping, routing, and services ensuring the fleet runs efficiently.
• Ensuring the safe transportation of all students with "0" preventable incidents/accidents.
• Maintaining an efficient operation that does not exceed a Cost Per Mile of $3.70.
• Developing a schedule for all drivers that fulfills their primary role of driving while on the clock.
• Maintaining a work environment where team members thrive with a minimum of 85% transportation staff retention.
• Utilizing Transfinder and Synovia to analyze fleet activity and generate reports.
• Communicating with school site staff, administrators, parents, and outside agencies to exchange information, coordinate activities, and resolve issues, concerns, and questions regarding transportation services, student behavioral problems, and special accommodations for students.
• Serving as a substitute Bus Driver when needed.
• Managing and auditing team’s participation to ensure systems are not being abused.
• Ensuring maintenance supplies are not over-purchased and PMs are done in a systematic order.

Requirements

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with class P (passenger) and S (school bus) endorsements.
• Completed bus driver safety training course.
• Over 18 years old.
• Pass alcohol and drug tests.
• DOT Physical Examination.
• Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish).

Qualifications

• GED or High School Diploma.
• Experience in the operation of large passenger vehicles; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

Pay

Compensation for this role is set at an hourly rate ranging between $24.39 for 0 years of experience and $27.77.

Schedule

This role is also eligible for a performance bonus based on team performance and goal attainment.
