Transportation Assistant

About the role

The Transportation Assistant serves as Assistant Fleet Manager and coordinates vehicle data submitted by various services within the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center and off-care sites (OCS) for fleet services. Primary responsibilities include assigning vehicles, coordinating fleet activities, planning vehicle use to maximize utilization, budgeting for the fleet, and maintaining consistency in fleet services.

Qualifications

• Must meet all requirements by the closing date of 10/06/2026.
• Time-In-Grade Requirement: Current Federal employees who have held a GS grade in the past 52 weeks must have served 52 weeks at the GS‑05 level to qualify for GS‑06; the grade may be in any occupation but must have been in Federal service. An SF‑50 showing eligibility must be submitted; if the most recent SF‑50 is within the past year, an additional SF‑50 demonstrating one‑year time‑in‑grade is required. This requirement also applies to former Federal employees seeking reinstatement and current employees applying under VEOA.
