About the role

Amazon is seeking Transportation Area Managers to work throughout the country. As part of our mission to be the most customer-centric company on earth, you will play a key role in ensuring Amazon customers receive their orders efficiently and reliably.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with site leadership on quality and customer experience metrics, including root cause analysis of problem areas.
  • Streamline logistics in the operation through the implementation of standard work and team leadership.
  • Support and commit to all safety programs and OSHA compliance to ensure a safe work environment for all associates.
  • Proactively identify and lead process improvement initiatives and Lean tools.
  • Manage a team of Transportation Associates to ensure Amazon customers receive their orders on time.
  • Support, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforce to maintain high performance.
  • Oversee safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises.
  • Lead change at internet speed to drive innovation and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of employee and performance management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience with performance metrics, process improvement, or Lean techniques (e.g., Kaizen, Six Sigma).
  • Experience managing a team of 20+ employees.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field.
  • Industry experience in retail, F&B, military, manufacturing, automotive, biotech, electronics, energy, instrumentation, machinery, defense/aerospace, medical, cosmetics, production, or distribution environments.

Pay

Base salary range: $70,000.00 – $90,900.00 USD annually (location: USA, SC, West Columbia). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
