Transportation Analyst - Traffic Operations
About the role
This role will sit out of our Jersey City, NJ office. The Transportation Analyst will provide support for traffic operation services for the Transportation Management Center (PA-TMC) for the Port Authority New York-New Jersey (PANYNJ) for their respective shift that is staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
Responsibilities
- Maintain situational awareness by actively monitoring video displays.
- Operate and monitor intelligent transportation systems equipment such as closed circuit television (CCTV) and vehicle detection systems (VDS).
- Generate entries into Transcom’s T-Rex platform that feeds 511 in NY and NJ, Everbridge/PA Alerts, U.O.C. Notifications, Daily Monitoring Reports, Incident Tracking Forms, and real time entries into 3rd party mapping apps including Waze and TomTom.
- Ensure transfer of information to subsequent shift personnel is complete and accurate.
- Notify PA personnel according to established procedures.
- Check the operation of equipment at the start of a shift, noting any malfunctions and requesting repairs.
- Notify appropriate Port Authority department of any computer system related problems.
- Monitor and assist co-workers to ensure accuracy and timeliness of information.
- Properly operate and utilize equipment required to perform assigned duties.
Qualifications
- A background in traffic operations, including prior traffic operations/transportation related field experience.
- 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Desirable experience includes past coordination with operations staff, technicians, engineers, and/or law enforcement on work assignments.
- Certified International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Transportation Center System Specialist Level II and Incident Command System (ICS 100 and ICS 200).
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.

Pay
Expected Pay: $28.04/hr
Schedule
Staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
