This position will work out of our Hawthorne, NY office. This Opportunity
Be involved in projects with our Mobility Operations Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.
Your Impact
Assist the HVTMC and NYSDOT in informing the public and partner agencies on the impact of weather, construction, maintenance, and other activities;
Ensure that work zone setup meet NYSDOT standards and conform to policies;
Report on and ensure that the Department’s external condition reporting systems (Openreach and 511NY) are timely and accurate;
Collect, analyze and report on HVTMC performance;
Assist in HVTMC asset management and recordkeeping;
conduct TMC/TSMO related studies/investigations, assist in ITS scope development, and work with contractors to correct reporting deficiencies in TMC systems.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in projects with Mobility Operations Team
  • Inform public and partner agencies on the impact of various factors
  • Ensure compliance with NYSDOT standards and policies
  • Monitor and update external condition reporting systems
  • Analyze and report HVTMC performance
  • Manage asset records and conduct TMC/TSMO related studies
  • Collaborate with contractors to improve TMC system reporting

Requirements

  • Minimum 0-2 years of experience as a Transportation Analyst
  • Computer/Software including MS Office applications, spreadsheets, and databases
  • Experience in personnel management, work zone traffic control design and/or implementation
  • Data analytics including economic evaluation, systems evaluation and predictability/performance evaluation
  • Geographic Information System (GIS), asset management, basic software development
  • Mapping (ArcMap, ArcView, ArcGIS, or equivalent)
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct
  • Construction inspection, supervision, or management experience
  • Ability to train others and work in a team environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) preferred
