About the role
A Transportation Aide transports residents to appointments and performs direct resident care duties under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel, as needed. Assist with promoting a compassionate physical and psychosocial environment for the residents.
Responsibilities
- Confirm and make doctors’ appointments for residents.
- Assist in making arrangements and provide transportation to appointments, community events, and others as needed.
- Notify family of arrangements regarding appointments.
- Perform clerical tasks including processing administrative transfers and discharges.
- Record resident vital signs, weights and measurements, intake and output, food consumption, and other information as assigned.
- Utilize proper body mechanics when lifting or transporting residents.
Requirements
- Active CNA license.
- Valid State Driver’s License with no more than three (3) entries (accidents, moving violations, or failures to appear). All accidents are counted, regardless of fault. Note: Convictions for DUI/DWI, refusal to test, reckless driving, hit and run, or other felony convictions disqualify the driver from driving on behalf of the facility.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative, and make independent decisions.
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
