Transportation Aide

About the role

The Transportation Aide position at McHenry Community Consolidated School District 15 involves assisting with various aspects of student transportation and bus safety.

Responsibilities

• Follows all established policies and procedures related to student transportation and bus safety, including emergency procedures related to bus evacuation.
• Demonstrates acceptance and empathy for students with disabilities.
• Makes sure student behavior is managed appropriately in collaboration with the bus driver and school administrator.
• Aids in loading and unloading procedures.
• Maintains proper handling and securing of student safety devices.
• Assists students with mobility needs.
• Maintains acceptable attendance and punctuality.
• Promotes strict adherence to student confidentiality.
• Displays patience, consistency, and effective communication skills.
• Communicates effectively with staff, students, and parents.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
