About the role
This position plays an important role in assisting with the supervision and transportation of clients throughout North Dakota. Some transports may require out-of-state travel. Candidates must be able to become sidearm qualified through the DOCR Parole and Probation Office.
Responsibilities
- Aid Transport Officers with the safe supervision and transportation of clients.
- Transport clients throughout North Dakota, with occasional out-of-state travel as required.
- Maintain, clean, and prepare transport vehicles.
- Assist DOCR staff with supervising clients in hospitals and psychiatric facilities.
- Support unscheduled transport during daytime and late afternoon hours.
- Transport clients to and from medical appointments through the local correctional facility.
- Document client behavior and transport activities in the department's electronic records system.
- Conduct searches of clients in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
- Testify in court proceedings when required.
Requirements
- High School diploma/GED.
- Ability to become sidearm qualified through the ND DOCR Parole and Probation Office.
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Professional interaction with clients, law enforcement, medical personnel, and court officials.
- Strong communication, documentation, and observation skills.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to travel throughout North Dakota and occasionally out of state.

Benefits
This is an ongoing opportunity with flexible scheduling of 15 or more hours per week at $20/per hour.
