Transplant Financial Coordinator (Spanish Bilingual)
About the role
At R1, you'll be part of a mission-driven team blending advanced technology with real-world service to create exceptional patient experiences. As a Financial Counseling Representative, you will provide exceptional financial counseling support, helping patients understand insurance benefits and out-of-pocket costs, meet with patients to discuss payment options and financial assistance programs, verify insurance eligibility and explain benefits clearly, assist with Medicaid and financial assistance applications, build trust with patients during stressful financial situations, and collaborate with care teams and revenue cycle departments.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional financial counseling support by helping patients understand insurance benefits and out-of-pocket costs
- Meet with patients to discuss payment options and financial assistance programs
- Verify insurance eligibility and explain benefits clearly
- Aid in Medicaid and financial assistance applications
- Build trust with patients during stressful financial situations
- Collaborate with care teams and revenue cycle departments
- Maintain accurate documentation across multiple systems
Requirements
- Exceptional customer service experience, communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates genuine compassion, empathy, and patience when supporting patients, clients, and team members
- Explain financial and insurance concepts clearly
- Multitask and prioritize quickly with HIGH attention to detail
- Professionalism with sensitive financial conversations
- High School Diploma or GED
Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare financial counseling and revenue cycle
- Exposure to insurance/Medicaid and detailed intakes

Pay
The base pay range for this US-based position is $20.94 - $28.87 per hour. Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
Schedule
Transplant Department Monday-Through Friday 8 am- 4:30 pm
