About the role

ACRT, Inc. is seeking an energetic professional for the Transmission Work Planner position. This role is suitable for both entry-level and experienced professionals with backgrounds in forestry, horticulture, arboriculture, environmental studies, conservation, or related fields. The position is based in Muskogee, Oklahoma, and may require occasional travel.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, inspect, and evaluate trees and brush along utility lines
  • Submit inspection results to clients with recommendations
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of assigned tree clearance crews
  • Discuss and negotiate line-clearance crew access issues
  • Serve as a liaison between clients, tree crews, and client customers
  • Perform post-inspection quality assurance of tree work completed by contractors for Oklahoma Gas and Electric throughout Oklahoma

Requirements

  • 2 or 4-year degree in forestry, horticulture, environmental science or closely related field, or 2 years of experience in Utility Vegetation Management or related field
  • Versatile computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Competent with GIS integrated data collection software/hardware

Qualifications

  • Self-motivated, organized, and production-oriented
  • Comfortable working independently and managing geographical areas for vegetation-related activities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of working with stakeholders, utility customers, and line clearance vendors
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Multi-tasking and strong time management skills
  • Ability to work in varied terrain and inclement weather with flexible schedules (available nights and weekends as needed)
  • Able to hike for extended periods to access lines throughout the state
  • Valid driver's license required

Skills

  • Knowledge of utility vegetation management practices
  • Experience with GIS technology
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills

Pay

$18 to $27.50 per hour based on certifications and experience

Schedule
