Transmission Line Project Engineer (Southeast) -Remote

About the role

This position offers a flexible work arrangements, with the option to work remotely or from one of our offices across the Southeast region. Preferred locations include Indian Land, SC, Charlotte, NC, Orlando, FL, Birmingham, AL, Richmond, VA, and Atlanta, GA.

Responsibilities

• Technical leadership and guidance for the planning, design, and delivery of high-voltage overhead transmission line projects.
• Research, design, concept development, planning, client interactions, business and proposal development, construction support, and staff mentorship.
• Support project development through disciplined engineering practices, coordination across multidisciplinary teams, and adherence to established quality and safety standards.
• Lead, support, and coordinate project engineering leadership, project manager support, and department support.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
• 7 - 10 years’ experience in the transmission field of designing/managing projects and leading multi-disciplinary teams
• Professional Engineering (PE) licensure
• Strong understanding of transmission line fundamentals and PLS-CADD operation
• Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills
• Experience using the Microsoft Office software suite
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

• Field program planning, management, and execution
• Subcontractor management
• Cost estimating and scheduling
• Field experience
• MBA degree from an accredited university
• Involvement in technical societies (IEEE, CIGRE, ASCE…)
• Experience using ArcGIS, AutoCAD/MicroStation, Foundation Design Software (FAD Tools, SHAFT, LPILE)
• POLE and TOWER experience

Pay

Expected Salary for the Richmond, Virginia Area: $107,600-$183,000
