Transmission Line Project Engineer
Primary Responsibilities
- Conducting analyses to develop design options.
- Performing PLS-CADD modeling and calculations and analyses.
- Aiding in preparing cost estimates or specifications.
- Performing routine to moderately complex engineering and design tasks.
- Leading design teams to develop and complete full construction packages for transmission line projects.
- Participating in field reviews or construction observations.
- Training and mentoring junior and entry-level engineers.
- Coeordinating work of the electrical design team on large institutional/industrial projects through the schematic design development and contract document phase of a project.
- Establishing meetings and participating in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance.
- Coordinating workload to complete deliverables on schedule.
- Conducting work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplines.
- Coeordinating with and assisting affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders, and taking responsibility to incorporate agreed-upon changes into the project documents.
- Conducting Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) for transmission projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Master's degree in Engineering.
- A minimum of 3 years experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector.
- Previous experience with an engineering consulting firm.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm desired.
- Familiarity with NESC and GO 95 codes.
- Familiarity with PLS-TOWER and/or SAPS modules of PLS-CADD.
- Previous experience with utility industry or engineering consulting firms desired.
- Preference will be given to local candidates.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- A Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
- Previous experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector.
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard Power Market Sector design software (examples include PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, and Revit).

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
