Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in transportation engineering
- Experience with INDOT Design Manual, Microstation, and AutoCAD
- Proven track record of successfully inspecting heavy highway projects
- In-depth knowledge of transportation engineering principles, design standards, and construction practices
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to solve complex engineering problems and make sound decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects concurrently under tight deadlines
- Strong commitment to professional development and continuous learning
Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and supervise transportation projects, ensuring they adhere to established technical specifications, budget constraints, and timeframes
- Utilize your expertise in INDOT, Microstation, and AutoCAD to develop detailed design drawings, plans, and technical specifications
- Conduct site inspections and surveys to gather necessary data for the planning and design process
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including architects, planners, and contractors, to ensure project objectives are met
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes impacting the transportation sector
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards, building codes, and environmental regulations
