Transmission Field Services Transportation & Logistics Coordinator

Provide comprehensive transportation and logistics coordination and expertise to the Transmission Field Services organization. Oversee the transportation and logistics needs for Transmission station and line material. Work closely with customers and suppliers to develop and maintain on-time delivery success and communicate any anticipated changes to the transportation schedule. Continually look for ways to provide cost-effective transportation and logistics services.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor a strategic external transportation and logistics plan that identifies targeted savings, increases service capabilities, and promotes continuous process improvement.
  • Conduct transportation activities including managing a centralized hauling process, providing internal and external guidance, coordination, and assistance on effectively hauling material.
  • Identify, review, and analyze inbound and outbound material flows for optimization opportunities and efficiencies.
  • Manage outsource hauling work authorization agreements and problem resolution.
  • Monitor hauling contractor service levels and prepare hauling contractor scorecards.
  • Seek out qualified transportation hauling, innovation, and support material which can meet Transmission Field Service's needs in the transportation marketplace, and communicate new transportation hauling options to the appropriate personnel.
  • Establish uniform claim procedures and assist field personnel with hauling claim resolution.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Business Administration or a technical-related field.
  • Four years of experience in operations, supply chain, logistics, or transportation industry.
  • Demonstrated analytical, scheduling, and business process capabilities.
  • Strong communication (both oral and written) and presentation skills.
  • Analytical and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and coordinate multiple activities.

Physical Demands

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods.

Pay

Salary range: $86,000 - $105,000 (Grade 7)
