About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Transmission Delivery Lead to oversee the successful planning, execution, and delivery of electric transmission projects. This role is responsible for leading cross-functional teams, managing project schedules and budgets, mitigating risks, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of transmission projects, including planning, engineering, procurement, construction, and closeout activities.
- Develop and manage project schedules, milestones, budgets, and resource plans.
- Cook up with engineering, environmental, permitting, construction, and operations teams to ensure project success.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, leadership teams, customers, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while proactively resolving issues that may impact project objectives.
- Monitor project performance and provide regular status updates, forecasts, and executive-level reporting.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, environmental regulations, and company policies.
- Manage contractor and vendor performance to ensure quality, cost control, and schedule adherence.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement best practices in project delivery.
- Support strategic planning efforts and contribute to the development of transmission infrastructure programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience managing utility, transmission, energy infrastructure, or large-scale capital projects.
- Proven experience leading complex, multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Strong knowledge of transmission systems, utility operations, and project delivery methodologies.
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules, contracts, and risk management processes.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
- Experience with transmission line, substation, and grid modernization projects in the US and/or Canada.
- Knowledge of NERC, FERC, and utility regulatory requirements.
- Experience working within investor-owned utilities, EPC firms, or energy infrastructure organizations.
