Transloading Superintendent
Brief Description
If you're a hands-on leader who thrives keeping a fast-moving operation running safely and efficiently, this role was built for you. The DeLong Co. is looking for an experienced Transloading Superintendent to oversee our import cargo transloading operation — managing everything from railcar and container transloads to inventory, invoicing, and customer relationships.
THE WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Active, hands-on leadership role at a working transload facility
- Supervise inbound and outbound operations, ensure quality control, and keep cargo — and your team — moving safely and efficiently
- Outdoor work across all seasons and weather conditions, plus dusty industrial environments
- Activity around heavy equipment, railcars, and trucks — safety awareness is essential and rewarded here
- A fast-paced, team-driven atmosphere with typical 40–45 hour weeks; peak periods may require extended hours and weekends
- Physical work including repeated lifting up to 40 lbs, climbing ladders, and working at heights as required
Requirements
- Required Minimum 3 years of experience in transloading, bulk material handling, logistics, or related operations
- Supervisory experience in industrial or transportation operations
- Strong understanding of inventory management and cargo tracking
- Working knowledge of railcar loading procedures and truck logistics
- Strong communication skills across all levels of employees and external customers
- Solid understanding of facility equipment and maintenance programs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and other computer programs
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance
