Translator

About the role

Primarily responsible for translating conversations, meetings, forms, policies, etc. from one language to another. Train employees in their native language. Performs all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and local, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Translate conversations, meetings, forms, policies, procedures, etc. from one language to another to facilitate understanding and improve safety and production.
• Assist HR, QA, production, etc., by training non-English speaking employees on processes, policies, and requirements in their native language; document training as it occurs.
• Assist with interviews, new hire orientation, etc., translating questions, answers, and presentations as needed.
• Adhere to safe work practices, policies, and procedures; maintain sanitary conditions to ensure product quality; report any condition or practice that may adversely affect food safety, food quality, and/or personnel safety.
• Work in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and local, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum one year of experience in accurately translating from English to another language and back; multiple languages preferred.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office to manage data and create reports.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization through highly effective verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shift hours.
• Sound work ethic, honesty, and moral character.

Safety Requirements

• Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs.
• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required.

Physical Requirements

• Moderate use of hands/fingers to operate computer, keyboard, and mouse.
• Ability to walk around the facility as needed.
• Exposed to cold temperatures (45°F, 4°C).
• Exposed to noise levels of > 85 decibels.
• Work around raw and/or live animal odors.
