Transitional Living Program Service Manager
About the role
The Service Manager is responsible for providing the delivery of care and services to all youth with absolute respect and unconditional love. The Service Manager must create opportunities for building community amongst young people that is inclusive and affirming, ensuring young people feel welcomed, seen, heard, and valued. The role involves inspiring and motivating youth by creating an environment that engages them and gives them voice and choice. The Service Manager supervises Youth Engagement Specialists and Youth Engagement Support Staff to ensure excellent provision of direct, individualized, supportive care to youth.
Responsibilities
- Coach youth in the development of their success plans.
- Work with youth to explore current and future opportunities.
- Build supportive relationships with youth to encourage them to find their voice and connect them to opportunities, experiences, and resources.
- Ensure the needs of youth are met, prioritizing safety while providing guardrails and maintaining flexibility.
- Create learning opportunities that offer youth voice, choice, and adaptability.
- Contribute to a dynamic atmosphere where youth can experience supportive relationships.
- Engage with youth in all program spaces.
- Participate in success plan meetings as scheduled.
- Document all client interactions, caseload progress, and outside agency contacts.
- Complete related documentation, including census, intake, assessments, and transition records.
- Enter and maintain accurate data in ETO and HMIS as required.
- Ensure compliance with all funding requirements.
- Allocate and document the distribution of petty cash and bus tickets.
- Provide weekly supervision of Youth Engagement Specialists and Youth Engagement Support Staff, demonstrating best practices from The Model of Care training materials.
- Complete staff's monthly schedule, ensuring all shifts are properly covered.
- Conduct daily reviews of progress notes to ensure quality of care.
- Maintain and/or establish partnerships with other service providers and community agencies.
- Maintain the safety, cleanliness, and oversight of program spaces and property.
- Report issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain adequate supplies and equipment to carry out program functions.
- Utilize agency resources, including vehicles, computers, and telephones for agency use only.
- Attend professional development training as assigned.
- Provide on-call coverage on a rotating basis.
- Actively participate in volunteer activities to ensure programming is appropriate and adds value.
- Collaborate with the volunteer department to enhance programmatic opportunities.
- Develop Aftercare plans for youth leaving Rights of Passage to attain identified goals, including safe and stable housing, job training, education, healthcare, mental health services, and life skills.
- Supervise and oversee case planning for Independent Living clients in Monmouth County.
- Conduct home visits for youth living in their own apartments.
- Ensure the needs of youth are always met and maintain structure with flexibility.
- Attend Continuum of Care (CoC) and other community meetings when appropriate.
- Check and respond to company emails and voicemails daily.
- Assist with fundraising and special events, which may occur outside normal work hours.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Housing and Coordinator of TLP.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a human service or related field (preferred).
- Excellent communication and crisis management skills.
- Ability to handle physically challenging situations.
- Strong assessment and judgment capabilities.
- Valid driver’s license with an insurable record.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Must be flexible to provide adequate supervision and building coverage.
Pay
$55,580.91 per year.
