Transitional Housing Specialist (Full-time Hybrid, North Carolina Based)
About the Role
This is a full-time hybrid opportunity fostering an atmosphere of support and collaboration among housing providers, Alliance Health staff, and network providers to promote access to short-term bridge housing programs. While there is no routine expectation to come into the office, the selected candidate must be available to report onsite to the nearest Alliance Office for business meetings as needed. The role requires travel throughout the Alliance catchment area and surrounding counties to meet with members, providers, and community stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Monitor transitional housing programs and providers to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and service elements.
- Ensure adherence to program guidelines for acceptance and denial of applicants.
- Manage transitional housing program referrals for accuracy and appropriateness.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and timely records and reports to meet funding and contractual obligations.
- Coordinate with transitional housing staff to meet goals and objectives for participants’ immediate and long-term housing plans.
- Take initiative in problem-solving and utilize resources, including team members and community resources, to address challenges.
- Provide technical support and training to TCL staff and providers on housing options and tools to foster relationships with housing vendors.
- Build relationships with referral sources, including healthcare programs, county agencies, and state facilities.
- Enhance collaboration with community partners to expand participant services.
- Develop streamlined administrative processes to ensure compliance and sustainability.
- Implement best practices in referral processes, program documentation, and progress tracking.
- Travel between Alliance offices, attend meetings, participate in Alliance-sponsored events, and meet with members, providers, and stakeholders as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Three (3) years of experience in Human Services, with at least two (2) years of experience in housing.

- Strong knowledge of behavioral health and intellectual/developmental disabilities.
- Strong knowledge of the homeless system and housing principles, guidelines, laws, and concepts.
- Knowledge of housing market trends.
- Knowledge of all guidelines and regulations in the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Employment for this position is contingent upon a satisfactory background and MVR (Motor Vehicle Registration) check, performed after acceptance of an offer and prior to the start date.
Pay
Salary range: $61,439–$78,335 annually. Exact compensation will be determined based on the candidate's education, experience, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
