Transition Specialist - Elementary

Essential Functions

• Acts as liaison between students and employers
• Affords support to the instructional program
• Affords assistance to vocational coordinator, teachers, and related staff
• Coordinates with state and federal agencies and programs
• Counsels students in independent living life and social skills
• Counsels students in career education and job search skills
• Maintains a variety of confidential and non-confidential lists and records
• Maintains monitoring of student's job locations
• Maintains monitoring of students' performance
• Participates in a variety of meetings
• Presents a variety of documents, reports, and written materials
• Promotes the program to the business community, students, participants, teachers, parents, etc.
• Responds to inquiries from a variety of internal and external sources
• Tutors students in vocational skills

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations
