Job Responsibilities

Collaborate with counselors to assist with Pre-Employment Transition Services.

Coordinate with the Business Development Specialist (BDS) to make new and existing employer contacts for work-based learning experiences.

  • Secure job shadowing, job tryout, internship, summer employment, school-based work experiences, and other community-based evaluation opportunities for transition students.
  • Coach and monitor students participating in JRT services during the summer.
  • Prepare consumers for an effective job search through instruction, personal and peer support, networking opportunities, and employment resources.
  • Provide direct job placement and follow-up assistance for all student consumers needing help.
  • Support students requiring supported employment services by providing job coaching, job matching, job analysis, intensive on-the-job training, social skills training, identification of natural supports, and follow-up services.
  • Offer ongoing support during the transition of students' initial job adjustment and monitor their progress.
  • Provide job coaching for applicants participating in Trial Work Experiences (TWE).

Minimum And Additional Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Vocational Evaluation, Rehabilitation Counseling, Technical or Adult Education, or Psychology, with two years of rehabilitation or related experience.
  • A high school diploma and related experience may substitute for the required bachelor's degree.
  • Invited candidates must obtain an Official 10-year driving record from the Department of Motor Vehicles and provide official transcripts to verify their college degree.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Vocational Evaluation, Rehabilitation Counseling, Technical or Adult Education, or Psychology.
