Responsibilities
- Installation, troubleshooting and repair of electrical, electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies/sub-assemblies and systems
- Troubleshoot electronics down to the component level to determine cause and remedy of any malfunction
- Perform required repairs to return unit/system to operational state
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems to determine root cause of issue and recommend a corrective action
- Set up and test Systems, sub-systems and units to meet specified requirements
- Recognize failures and set up problems, isolate problems and take appropriate action to resolve those problems
- Operate oscilloscopes, generators, meters, power supplies, service monitors and test fixture, and understand their use and function
- Keep Supervisor informed of all unresolved and/or potential problems that would negatively affect production schedules
- May conduct detailed experimental testing
- Electronic & mechanical assembly
- Install components, units and printed circuit boards following specifications
- Make adjustments or repairs according to written specifications
- Fabricate parts, cables and test fixtures
- Maintain and write work procedures and related documentation for each task performed
- Perform other job duties as required
Qualifications
- Most possess problem solving skills, strong digital skills, analog skills and the ability to troubleshoot in a logical manner
- Possess clear, verbal and written communication
- Must have experience using the following equipment: DVM, oscilloscopes, recorders, hand tools (such as soldering irons, hand crimpers, screwdrivers, wrenches and pliers)
- Must be able to exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- An Associate’s Degree or 4 plus years equivalent technical experience and/or military technical training is required
