About the role
The Sales Account Executive position at Lamar Advertising's Transit & Airport division in Phoenix, AZ, is responsible for meeting and exceeding sales projections by selling transit advertising campaigns to qualified advertisers.
Responsibilities
- Meet and exceed sales projections by selling transit advertising campaigns to qualified advertisers using professional sales techniques.
- Develop relationships with local businesses, acquire new advertisers, and manage existing accounts.
- Possess proven track record of sales-based relationships with local advertising clients and agencies.
- Competitively sell against other forms of advertising to include TV, radio, digital and OOH.
- Identify potential growth areas and open new accounts.
- Establish, develop and maintain business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assigned territory to generate new business for the organization's products.
- Personalize sales efforts by maximizing the return on time investment.
- Share pipeline report, appointment calendar and proposal updates with manager weekly.
- Plan and organize personal sales strategy by coordinating sales effort with marketing, sales management, accounting, and operations groups to ensure timely implementation of advertising campaigns while providing a superior customer experience through the sales process.
Requirements
- Required: College degree in business, marketing, or other related field.
- Preferred: Advertising/media sales experience.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- 3 years of successful business-to-business sales experience.
- Valid Driver's License required.
Qualifications
- Proven track record of sales-based relationships with local advertising clients and agencies preferred.
- Ability to competitively sell against other forms of advertising to include TV, radio, digital and OOH.
- Excellent written, verbal and listening skills as well as Word, Excel, and general computer proficiency.
- Ability to make oral presentations to provide information or explain products and services.
- Computer proficency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and CRM (Salesforce preferred).
- Persuasive selling skills with the ability to work with a high level of urgency while maintaining a strong focus on customer services.
- Skill in writing grammatically correct business correspondence.
- Ability to perform effectively under fluctuating workloads.
- Skill in advertising to local and regional businesses and advertising agencies.
- Skill in establishing rapport and gaining the trust of others.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
- Ability to meet a sales quota.
- Working knowledge of general sales techniques.
- Ability to cold call businesses.
- Ability to be intrinsically motivated to succeed and withstand rejection.
- Skill in working independently and following through on assignments with minimal direction.

Pay
First year earning potential of $40,000 - $150,000/year, including commissions, dependent on experience and selling ability.
Schedule
A Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm in-office (combination of in-office and selling in the field) work schedule for the duration of training, with the opportunity for hybrid work after training.
