About the role
The Transit Enforcement Officer - Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of transit systems. Duties include monitoring for suspicious activity, enforcing rules and regulations, and providing customer service.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for passengers and staff
- Enforce transit system rules and regulations
- Interact with customers and provide courteous service
- Respond to emergencies and assist with crowd control
- Perform routine patrols and inspections
- Document findings and incidents in accordance with policy
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Pass a background check
- Pass a physical fitness test
- Must be at least 21 years old
Qualifications
- Experience in law enforcement or security preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of public transportation systems
