Transit Analyst
About the role
The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) is seeking a Transit Analyst to join the Public Transportation Office within the Policy, Data and Analysis Division. The position is part of a newly created role designed to support transit providers in understanding and complying with funding and training opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Prepare written and digital communication to inform transit providers about funding and training opportunities.
- Oversee and provide technical support to transit agencies receiving federal and state grants to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.
- Evaluate transit provider quarterly reporting on revenues, expenses, service data, accidents, assets, and civil rights complaints.
- Resolve issues and discrepancies in transit provider reimbursement requests.
- Guide transit providers in planning transportation improvement activities.
- Communicate public transportation information both internally and externally.
- Draft and review communication plans, announcements, materials, and contact lists for transit providers.
- Identify and promote successful public transportation projects and initiatives.
- Update and maintain the agency’s public transportation webpages.
- Develop and distribute educational materials about public transportation.
- Provide technical assistance and customer service to transit providers receiving state and federal transportation program funding.
- Work in an office environment, evenings, and weekends, with occasional travel.
Requirements
Any combination of experience or education equivalent to five years of experience supporting the knowledge and skills required for the classification, or a bachelor's degree in business or public administration, behavioral or social sciences, or a related field, with two years of experience coordinating or administering a program.
