Transformer Repair Foreman

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee transformer shop and logistics operations, including salvage, oil handling, testing, and environmental compliance.
• Coordinate equipment refurbishment and repair, procure parts and vendor services, and provide technical guidance and training.
• Ensure required inspections are completed and that facilities, shop equipment, and tools are maintained properly for safe and reliable operation.
• Overhaul and repair distribution and high voltage transformers, regulators, capacitors, switches, and insulators on the ground, both in the shop and in the field.
• Perform diagnostic testing and analysis of test results on equipment, apparatus, and wiring.

Requirements

• High school diploma or proof of equivalent.
• Four years of experience in technical operations.
• Proficient in all diagnostic testing and analysis of test results on equipment, apparatus, and wiring.
• Good driving record.
• Successfully completed a Journeyman Wireman program or equivalent apprenticeship and experience.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without an accommodation.
• Post-offer, pre-placement physical capacity screening to ensure the candidate meets the physical demands of the job.

Preferences

• Five years' experience as a Transformer Repairman or Substation Journeyman.
