Review the job specification and make notes of the required skills. Adapt your CV, cover letter, and interview approach to incorporate these skills. It's also essential to know your CV well, as you can expect to be asked questions about it.
Utilize your network to gain insight into the company culture and what it takes to work there. With many interviews taking place online, practice talking in front of a camera and pay attention to your body language, voice, and background noise.
The STAR Method and Personality
Behavioural questions in an interview allow you to provide specific examples of using your skills in the workplace. The STAR method can help you explain the situation, task, actions, and results of your experience.
Don't forget to showcase your personality during an interview. If you're a fun, friendly, and caring person, let it show. Be prepared to talk about your strengths, versatility, and adaptability.
Body Language
A strong entrance and confident body language can make a good impression in an interview. Make eye contact, sit up straight, and smile. Avoid crossing your arms, sitting too far back or forward, or averting your gaze.
Practice relaxation techniques, such as controlled breathing, to help manage your nerves. Embbodying confidence, even if you don't feel it, can help you feel more confident over time.
