Transfer Driver CDL A Home Daily

Immediately hiring a Shuttle Transfer Driver in Beltsville, MD. Local, home-daily position with no weekends.

Pay

• Hourly pay: $20.00 per hour
• Overtime pay: $30.00 per hour for hours worked over 40 per week

Schedule

• Full-time: 40+ hours per week
• Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
• Home daily

About the role

• Route: Shuttle equipment between Ryder customer facilities
• Freight: No-touch, empty trailers for equipment shuttle transfer movement
• Trucks are 36 months or newer, include 24/7 roadside maintenance
• Company drivers fuel up at over 800 maintenance facilities nationwide
• Drivers have autonomy to make safety decisions, with job protection

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a commercial vehicle in compliance with safety and DOT regulations
• Participate in continuous training and provide customer service
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and standards
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
• Maintain accurate records and logs
• Perform other assigned tasks

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder drug test, background check, and motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
• Pass a DOT physical and Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
  • 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
  • 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
  • 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
