Pay

  • Hourly Pay: $20.00 per hour
  • Overtime Pay: $30.00 per hour for hours worked over 40 per week

Schedule

  • 40+ hours per week
  • Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Home daily (local position)
  • No weekends

About the Role

This position involves driving shuttle equipment between Ryder customer facilities. No freight handling—trailers are empty. Trucks are 36 months or newer, and drivers have autonomy over safety decisions with job protection.

Ryder will assist in transitioning from Owner Operator to Company Employee Driver, including purchasing your truck if needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass a Ryder drug test, background check, and motor vehicle check (including drug/alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
  • Pass a DOT physical and Ryder road test
  • Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
  • Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
    • 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
    • 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
    • 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures

Responsibilities

  • Safely drive a commercial vehicle in compliance with safety & DOT regulations
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules
  • Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
  • Maintain accurate records and logs
  • Participate in continuous training and provide customer service
  • Perform other assigned tasks
